San Sebastian is a foodie’s dream and you’ll be living it with our special foodie tour of this Spanish culinary capital. This four day intensive tour takes you on a complete journey into the heart of the Basque food scene, where you’ll get to experience the food scene from farm to table. You’ll learn about what goes into making the local wine and cheeses of the region, tasting as you go. Get ready to explore local markets, learn how to transform beautiful raw ingredients into tasty local dishes and where to belly up to the bar for the best pintxos for the best bites in town. After this three day tour, you’ll be fully sated and an expert on the local cuisine.

Day 1
Pintxo Tour
We’ll head straight into the heart of the downtown area in the Casco Viejo to start a fun pintxos tour of San Sebastian. These mini-tasting tours of San Sebastian’s pintxo scene are a great sneak-peek into the history, culture, and modern lifestyle of the Basque Country. Why do this as a tourist when you can do it as a local? This is a great way to have an informal lunch or dinner, learning about the local customs and tasting the best of this famous miniature food in the old town in some of our favorite bars! We recommend comfortable walking shoes for this tour.

Day 1
Pintxo Tour
We’ll head straight into the heart of the downtown area in the Casco Viejo to start a fun pintxos tour of San Sebastian. These mini-tasting tours of San Sebastian’s pintxo scene are a great sneak-peek into the history, culture, and modern lifestyle of the Basque Country. Why do this as a tourist when you can do it as a local? This is a great way to have an informal lunch or dinner, learning about the local customs and tasting the best of this famous miniature food in the old town in some of our favorite bars! We recommend comfortable walking shoes for this tour.

Day 2
Private Cooking Class - Gastronomic Society
Today we are in for a treat as our lunch will take place in the most important and well-known Gastronomic Club of San Sebastian (a temple for foodies!) where we have been given exclusive member access and can grant access for you to partake in a wonderful experience. First, you’ll head to the central market to choose seasonal products, then return to the club where you’ll get to sip on some local wine while preparing several local delicacies, including local charcuterie, fresh fish and seasonal veggies. Finally, you’ll get a chance to sit and enjoy the fruits of your labor and to taste what makes the regional Basque cuisine so famous.

Day 2
Private Cooking Class - Gastronomic Society
Today we are in for a treat as our lunch will take place in the most important and well-known Gastronomic Club of San Sebastian (a temple for foodies!) where we have been given exclusive member access and can grant access for you to partake in a wonderful experience. First, you’ll head to the central market to choose seasonal products, then return to the club where you’ll get to sip on some local wine while preparing several local delicacies, including local charcuterie, fresh fish and seasonal veggies. Finally, you’ll get a chance to sit and enjoy the fruits of your labor and to taste what makes the regional Basque cuisine so famous.

Day 3
Basque Wine & Cheese Tour
Today we’ll visit a sheep farm in the Basque hills where we’ll learn all about the local specialty, Idiazabal cheese. The owner will show us how this regional cheese is produced, from the milking process to final aging. You’ll be treated to a tasting session of 4 different cheeses paired with wine or the local cider. From there, we’ll head to a family-run Txakoli winery, where we’ll learn about the local grapes that make this special wine. Our tour is followed by a wine tasting. We’ll finish our tour with lunch in the fishing village of Getaria where you’ll be treated to the best local grilled fish.

The owner will show us how this regional cheese is produced, from the milking process to final aging. You’ll be treated to a tasting session of 4 different cheeses paired with wine or the local cider. From there, we’ll head to a family-run Txakoli winery, where we’ll learn about the local grapes that make this special wine. Our tour is followed by a wine tasting. We’ll finish our tour with lunch in the fishing village of Getaria where you’ll be treated to the best local grilled fish.

DAY 4 - French Basque Coast Hike and Lunch
Enjoy a private 4-kilometer hike leading to a spectacular vantage point overlooking the Basque coastline, where sea and hills meet in breathtaking harmony. The trail is gentle and accessible to all levels, offering a rewarding connection with nature and a view to remember. Afterward, descend into the charming town of Saint Jean de Luz for a leisurely brunch featuring oysters, artisanal cheeses, macarons, and local wines. Take time to stroll its quaint streets, known for beautiful linen and traditional espadrilles, before returning to San Sebastian along a scenic mountain road.

Enjoy a private 4-kilometer hike leading to a spectacular vantage point overlooking the Basque coastline, where sea and hills meet in breathtaking harmony.
