Food and wine lovers will rejoice with this complete 6-day tour of the region will highlight both the best of Barcelona and the surrounding wine regions in a unique tour that will leave you brimming with new knowledge about Catalan food and wines. From the tapas bars of Barcelona to the stunning wineries of Priorat, you’ll see it all on this immersive tour. You’re sure to find your favorite wine among the bunch, and come away with a good breadth of knowledge about what makes the gastronomy and wines of this part of Spain so special. Of course, we wouldn’t let you leave without a taste of the region’s famed vermouth and local tapas, so come ready to indulge!

Day 1
Barcelona Food & Wine
Today’s food and wine tour is all about decoding Barcelona using its great bars and restaurants. You will learn about Barcelona’s gastronomy, history, and strong cultural identity while you eat and drink your way around its charming streets. You will be led to the four principle neighborhoods of Barcelona (l'Eixample, el Raval, el Gótico and el Born) with a local expert and learn all about the colorful history and cultural nuances of Barcelona and the region of Catalonia. We’ll visit local establishments for tasty gourmet dishes and a wide variety of wines from around Spain and Catalunya.

Day 2
Catalan Wine Tasting with Food Pairings
This day is designed for foodies, with a wine tasting and pairing experience to remember. We spend the afternoon in a private home in Barcelona, where you’ll get the chance to learn all about Catalan wines and the local denominations of origin from a fun and dynamic sommelier. All this paired with a traditional Catalan BBQ, designed so that each wine has the perfect dish to make it shine, an indulgence not to be missed!

Day 3
Catalan Cooking Class
Today you’ll learn the ins and outs of true Catalan cuisine with a hands-on cooking class. A trip to the market will start us off, as you learn to shop for fresh, seasonal, local ingredients. Then, we dive right into a full menu of local dishes that might include esqueixada, mar i muntanya, pa amb tomàquet, and other seasonal recipes, including dessert. Of course we’ll wash it down with local wines.

Day 4
Discovering Priorat - Day 1
This morning, we wake up in the small winemaking town of Gratallops. From here, we will visit two vineyards in the Priorat region, where you’ll have the chance to see the incredible costers (terraces) of vines and learn about the region’s important llicorella soil that makes the wines of Priorat so prized. Afterwards, we’ll head to the neighboring region of Montsant, another well-known winemaking hub, where you’ll learn about its subtleties and how its coming to stand apart in unique ways from its neighbor. We’ll return to Gratallops for the evening.

Day 5
Discovering Priorat - Day 2
This morning we leave Gratallops and get acquainted with the famous Scala Dei Monastery, known as the origins of winemaking in the Priorat. There we’ll have a tour of the winery and an olive oil tasting before visiting the local monastery to learn more about how it all began. We’ll have a beautiful 3-course lunch in a local restaurant before heading off to another winery for a final taste of the region.

Day 6
Olive Oil & Oysters
The last day of our tour is filled with gastronomic delights. In the morning, we will visit an olive oil producer where you will learn all about growing olive and pressing oils. Following the tasting, we will drive about 1 hour to the coast and head out on the water to a floating restaurant on top of an oyster and mussel farm. The lunch we will have out on sea is full of terrific local fare and is often described as the highlight of people's stay in the area!
