Looking for something a little different on your next trip to Catalonia? How about an unforgettable lunch out on the Mediterreanian Sea on top of a seafood farm/floating restaurant at the Delta d’Ebre! The industry of harvesting shellfish in Catalonia is an important one and a well kept secret for most outsiders. Alongside the local rice farms, which produce the famous bomba rice ideal to prepare paella, the Delta d’Ebre is a beautiful area to visit in Southern Catalonia. Over 4,000 tons of mussels, 800 tons of oysters and 30 tons of clams are harvested every year in this area.

Over the course of the day we’ll drive down to the Delta d'Ebro and you’ll learn firsthand about the farming process of these delicious shellfish treats, with an explanation of the history of their cultivation, unique to this territory. We’ll see the lovely rice patties, beaches and even catch a flamenco (bird, not the music!), which are native to the area. We’ll then head out to sea to enjoy a taste of the incredible seafood accompanied by local wine and cava, this day is sure to be an unforgettable one!
