Along the Spanish coast, the path is narrow: only the southernmost tier of Andalusia falls within it. Further north, cities like Seville, Granada, and Cordoba will see a very deep partial eclipse but will not experience totality. Being inside the path is non-negotiable. A partial eclipse, however deep, is an entirely different and considerably less dramatic experience.

The key distinction within the path is between the centerline, where totality lasts longest, and the edges, where it is cut short. In Spain, the centerline runs close to Tarifa and the Strait of Gibraltar.
