DAY 2

COOKING AT HOME WITH A LOCAL FAMILY

Join a local influential family from Porto society at their house for a cooking class and dinner. The lady of the house is the most wonderful cook and she is happy to share with you the tricks and specialties of traditional regional cuisine. During the cooking class you will learn how to make three traditional dishes and afterward enjoy lunch/dinner comprised of several additional delicacies, accompanied by some of the best wines and Ports from Douro. This is quite a unique experience as this family will exceptionally welcome you into their home as if you are family!

DAY 3

DAY IN THE DOURO

On this one-day tour, you’ll revel in the Douro Valley’s creased and folded mountain slopes, combed with verdant vines that craft juicy Douro table wines and legendary ports. After meeting your driver in your hotel lobby, you’ll be swept off to the heart of the Valley where you’ll visit a family-owned winery who has redefined Douro wines internationally. Renowned for their warmth and charm, you’ll be given an exceptional private tasting of both their port and still wines. Lunch will be hosted inside a cozy little restaurant, tucked away inside the narrow streets of Ervedosa, whipping up mouthwatering regional dishes sourced a stone’s throw from their kitchen. But be careful, because these lovely women will remain true to their Portuguese roots by filling your plates well beyond your physical boundaries – but there are far worse things in life (not included). After a one-hour boat cruise coasting along the Douro River, revel in a premium wine tasting and vineyard tour perched just over River Tavora.

DAY 4

PASTEL DE NATA WORKSHOP

Pastel de nata is a sweet treat that is common and appreciated throughout all of Portugal, not just Lisbon. If you are visiting Porto you may want to embark on a journey and learn how to make this delicious sweet pastry from scratch from a professional chef. Learn the tricks of the trade, the pastry, the custard and oven times. For two hours you will be hands-on making the pastries but you will be able to taste them warm right out of the oven with some tea or coffee.
