3 DAY TOUR

This extended 3-day tour takes you to the heart of Spanish culture and cuisine. You’ll have the chance to immerse yourself in Madrid’s capital city culture and to learn about the famous tapas culture. You’ll get to escape to the Medieval city of  Toledo, famous for its swords, and enjoy its unique cultural fabric. The final day will find you at the table again, soaking up the rhythms of the countryside, and learning all about what goes into making some of the staple Spanish foods that have seduced you since you arrived.

SAMPLE ITINERARY

DAY 1

MADRID EXTENSIVE CITY TOUR

Madrid is the perfect city to get lost in. Today you’ll experience an extensive city tour, wandering the city’s charming streets and seeing the sights, like the Plaza de Mayor, the Royal Palace, and Retiro Park. Foodies will relish being treated to a true tapas experience and learning about the best of Spanish cuisine. In the evening, you will be treated to a fabulous  flamenco show, beholding the seductive movements behind this classic dance.

DAY 2

DAY TRIP TO TOLEDO

Today we’ll explore the ancient city of Toledo, just a short train ride from Madrid. There we’ll have a tour of the city exploring the different cultures, religions, and dynasties that have left their stamp on this unique Unesco World Heritage site. Stops on the tour includes a walk through the old Jewish quarter, a visit to the Museo del Greco, the local fortress known as the Alcázar, and the famed Arabic bridge, the Puerta de Bisagra. You will also have the chance to try the region’s famous and delectable suckling pig.

DAY 3

FARM TO TABLE DAY

On your final day, you’ll escape the city for the countryside, where you’ll be treated to a full foodie experience. The first stop on your itinerary will be a local olive oil producer, where you’ll learn all about the production of the region’s finest first press oils and taste what makes them so renown. From there, we’ll head to a local winery where we’ll get to tour the vineyards and learn all about Tempranillo and the other grapes that go into making excellent Spanish wine, accompanied by a tasting. Finally we’ll visit a cheese farm to get the heart of how the region’s Manchego cheese is made.
