BCN MODERNISM AND GAUDI
Today we’ll get a full introduction to Modernism with a visit to some of the architectural gems of the city. We’ll of course hit Antoni Gaudí’s famous Sagrada Familia, as well his lesser known but equally stunning Casa Vinçens. From there we’ll take a tour down Barcelona’s elite shopping street, Passeig de Gracia, where you’ll see the impressive facades of his Casa Batlló and Casa Milà. We’ll end today’s tour with a final jewel, stunning Palau de Música.
BCN MUSEUM TOUR
Today we dive into Barcelona’s renowned art scene with a tour of three museums, the National Art Museum of Catalunya, the Picasso Museum and the Miró Museum. Your day will be filled with an introduction to the region’s artistic traditions, from the traditional early art to the Modernist genius of Picasso and Miró.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF DALI
Today we head up the coast to learn all about the master of surrealism, Salvador Dalí. We will visit Figueres where we’ll delve into the artist’s greatest collection of work, before heading up the coast to visit his home in Portlligat where he lived with his wife Gala. There you’ll see how a traditional coastal home was curiously reimagined by the eccentric artist.
VISIT WITH A LOCAL ARTIST
On our final day of the trip, we’ll be getting into the mind of a local artist and getting a sense of current trends in the art world with a studio visit. Not only will you get to see her work, but you’ll learn about her process and her influences.
